Dear Partners in
Ministry,
It has been a year since we came here in Southern Mindanao and we thank the
Lord for seeing us through. our first year was marked with God's
goodness particularly to the ministry here in the region. In short time the
Lord allowed us to see some significant developments. Allow me to share some
of them.
During the first semester we
had 11 IVCF (College groups), 4 ISCF (High School groups) and 4 GCF
(graduate groups) chapters all over the region. We did not have a
Leaders' Council (a joint fellowship of students from different
schools in the same area). By March 2002, we already have 13 IVCF, 5 ISCF
and 7 GCF chapters all over the region. We thank the Lord for the 2
additional IVCF, 1 ISCF and 3 GCF chapters. Likewise starting 2nd semester
(November 2001) the Davao City Leaders' Council was revived and attended by
students from 8 colleges and 2 high schools in Davao. So as of March 2002,
throughout the region we have contacts to 18 campuses on which 13 already
have groups inside the campus. Students from 5 other campuses have been
attending the Davao Leaders' Council meetings held in IV Home, Davao City.
By God's grace, we have now 179 regular attendees and 108 contacts
throughout the region.
Although we have seen some
developments yet we recognize that the harvest is still plentiful. The
students that we have reached are a very small percentage compared to the
student populace. There are still more students and graduates who are lost
and hurting needing a grace of God. In this regard, I appeal to you to
continue to journey with us as we reach out to more students and graduates
in Southern Mindanao Region.
I would like to thank you
for all the support you have extended to IVCF ministry. You indeed played a
significant role in the growth of the ministry. Words cannot express how
grateful I am for all the support you have extended.
As per our last Regional
Advisory Council (RAC) meting last March 9, 2002, we decided to recommend
Jether Yares to be an Associate Staff for the Cotabato area. Effective June
2002, Jether Yares comes as an Associate Staff for the Cotabato area.
Furthermore we decided to invite Darby Aspacio to be our new Regional
Collector and Public Relation Officer. We thank the Lord that Darby took the
challenge for the task. I ask that you will accept Darby Aspacio the way you
accept Jether Yares.
Officially,I, together with
the RAC Chairman, Mr. Ray Poral, would like to endorse Darby Aspacio as our
new Regional Collector and Public Relation Officer. Please do not hesitate
to share to Darby any of your concerns, be it ministry related or personal.
We also would like to welcome your feedback on how we can serve you, the
students and graduates more. We cannot guarantee that we can fulfill all of
them but we will try to consider and acknowledge your feedback and/or
comments.
May the Lord richly bless
you as you have been a blessing to us and to many students and graduates in
Southern Mindanao.
